What we do

Roofing services in London and Surrey

From a single slipped slate to a full re-roof, and the chimney, lead and stone work that goes with it.

Roof Repairs

Slipped tiles, leaks, storm damage and failed flashing put right, usually in a single visit.

New Roofs and Re-roofing

Stripped back to the deck and rebuilt with new membrane, treated battens and fresh tiles or slate.

Slate and Heritage Roofing

Natural slate laid and dressed by hand, with lead ridges, hips and valleys formed on the roof.

Flat Roofing

EPDM rubber, fibreglass and felt systems for extensions, garages and dormers.

Chimneys and Leadwork

Repointing, rebuilds, cowls and new lead flashing where the old work has failed.

Stonework and Repointing

Stone stacks, copes and skews rebuilt, and weathered mortar joints raked out and pointed to match.

Before and after

Real transformations

Drag the handle to see how each roof came to us and how it was left. The last one was filmed from start to finish.

Dormer apex stripped and re-slated with new leadwork

The old capping had rusted through at every joint and the slates around it had blown and cracked. The apex was stripped back, re-slated, and new lead ridges and hips were dressed and fixed on the roof.

Full slate re-roof on a stone terrace

Decades of patching had left this roof a mixture of odd slates, moss and open joints. It came off in full, the roof was re-covered in new slate and the ridge line reinstated across the whole run.

Project 03

Garage flat roof re-covered in EPDM rubber

The felt had gone brittle, moss had taken hold and the trims were lifting at the edges. It was stripped to the deck and re-covered in a single sheet of EPDM with new trims all the way round.

Extension flat roof stripped back and re-covered

A tired extension roof that had been patched more than once. This one was filmed from the strip out through to the finish: the old covering off, new boards down, then the EPDM rolled out in a single sheet and dressed up into an upstand against the brickwork.

Why choose us

Built to last, not patched to pass

Anyone can seal a leak for a winter. The difference shows in what the roof looks like three winters later.

Time served on slate and lead

Slate laid and lead dressed by hand on the roof, the way it has always been done, not sealed over with mastic and hoped for.

Made watertight, not patched

We deal with the cause rather than the stain on the ceiling, and we tell you plainly if a repair is only buying you time.

One team, start to finish

The person who quotes the job is on the job. No handing you to a subcontractor you have never met.

Genuinely local

Based in London and Surrey and working across the surrounding areas, so we are close by if you need us.

A tidy site every day

Sheeted down, old material cleared as we go, and the drive swept before we leave.

Homes and commercial

Modern housing, older stone property and commercial roofs, handled by the same people.

Meet the owner

Fairmont Roofing and Stonework

A London and Surrey based roofing and stonework business covering the town and the surrounding areas. Pitched roofs, flat roofs, chimneys, leadwork and stone repairs, handled by the same people from the quote to the last sweep of the drive.

Tradition, craftsmanship and trust are on the badge for a reason. Slate is laid and lead is dressed on the roof by hand, and the parts of a job nobody will ever see are the parts that decide how long it lasts.

My passion for roofing started from watching my grandad and learning from the generations before me. Roofing was more than just a trade in my family, it was a skill, a way of life, and something to be proud of.
